カスタムロム(英語:custom rom、通称:カスROM)とは、主にAndroid端末インストールできる非公式なOSのイメージファイルのことである。

Androidではクリーンインストールの難易度が非常に高いため、どこかの誰かが作り上げた非公式なOSインストールされた端末からROM吸い出し、そのイメージファイルを第三者(利用者)に配布し、第三者(利用者)はそれをROM焼きする方式が一般的であるため、このように呼ばれる。

パソコンでいえば、まっさらなHDDSSDにOSをクリーンインストールする方式ではなく、あるHDDバックアップを別のHDDに書き戻すような方式である。

当然ながらクリーンインストールほど精神衛生的に清潔なものではなく「余計なもの」が入っている可能性もゼロではない。

root

カスタムロムの多くは「root」になることができる。むしろrootになれないものは見たことがない。通常使用は一般ユーザーとなっており必要に応じて一時的にSuperSUなどでrootに昇格するものが多いが、いきなりrootとなっているカスタムロムも存在している。
